Coach Larry’s Site
My team’s baseball coach asked us if we knew anybody that could make a website for the team. He wanted to build a site to show off the teams statistics. Our coach Larry thought that our site should have full animation so that it could impress site visitors. I knew how to make sites, but really didn’t want to volunteer to do extra work. My buddy ended up telling the coach that I know how to make websites before I got the chance to tell him to keep quiet. This of course led to me having to make the team’s web site.
Knowing that the coach didn’t have a large budget to work for, I decided to try and find a free web host and some discounted seo services. I’d use local Minneapolis seo services to keep seo costs down. I found some great blogging platforms, and built a site using Blogger. Embarrassment hit me as soon as I showed the new website to the coach. Although the coach said he thought it was good, I knew he was lying. I quickly let him know that this was just a temporary website and that the real thing would be built before the end of the month.
I went back to the drawing board to think about what kind of platform I could use to make a great site. After searching around the Internet I decided that the best way for me to make a great web site would be for me to use flash. I’d be able to add visually appealing graphics with full animation. In addition to this I could place in some video highlights of the team. I knew that the team would love to watch themselves playing.
After searching through the web I found an organization that hosted free flash sites. I signed up at the site and looked through what they had to offer. This site was just what I needed. It took me another two weeks to get the site completely perfect but I am very proud of my work. After seeing the look the coach gave my new site, I knew it was good. The rest of the team loved the site as well and Jack’s dad even asked me to make a site for him. Even though he has offered me money I’ll probably do it for free.
